Board Member
Born on January 3, 1979, in Mirdita, Av. Luigj Gjergji has built his career at the crossroads of education, law, and community development. He first graduated in Shkodër, where he specialized in Teaching for Albanian Language and Literature – a foundation that grounded his lifelong commitment to learning and public service. His academic path later brought him to Tirana, where he pursued studies in Law and earned a Scientific Master’s Degree in Civil Law. In 2013, he successfully passed the state bar examination, becoming a licensed attorney. Earlier in his journey, in 1998, he certified his proficiency in the Italian language at the University of Tirana.
Luigj’s professional life spans a rich blend of roles across faith-based, public, and educational institutions. He began as an assistant at the Diocesan Caritas of Rrëshen and served as a consultant to Caritas Albania. For twelve years, he held the position of Secretary of the Diocese of Rrëshen, contributing to the administrative and pastoral life of the local Church. He also worked for four years as a Regional Inspector for the Central Election Commission, bringing his legal and organizational skills into the public governance sphere.
His career in higher education grew through his service as Administrator of “Qiriazi” University, where he later became a member of the University’s Board. This experience strengthened his engagement in academic leadership and institutional development.
Today, Av. Luigj Gjergji continues to work at the heart of vocational education and professional formation. He serves as a member of the Advisory Board for the “Skills for Jobs” project implemented by Swisscontact, contributes as a consultant to international development initiatives in education and vocational training, coordinates the “Padre Monti” Vocational Center under the “Our Lady of Good Counsel” Foundation, and leads the vocational school “St. Joseph the Worker” as its director.
Across all these roles, Luigj remains dedicated to strengthening education, fostering professional pathways, and supporting community growth through both expertise and service.
