Gazmir Memaj

    Community Development Expert | Anti-Trafficking Advocate | Economic Empowerment Leader

    With over 19 years of experience in Albania’s civil society sector, Gazmir Memaj has dedicated his career to supporting vulnerable children, youth, and families through inclusive, community-based programs. He began his journey in 2006 with Centro Informazione e Educazione allo Sviluppo (CIES) and has since collaborated with numerous NGOs across the country.

    Since 2014, Gazmir has been a vital part of the Mary Ward Loreto Foundation, where he has led initiatives focused on the prevention of domestic violence, gender-based violence, and human trafficking. He has served as Project Manager and Community Development Program Leader, overseeing six Advice and Service Centers nationwide and contributing to the Foundation’s strategic direction as a member of its Executive Team.

    Currently, Gazmir leads the Economic Empowerment Program, coordinating vocational training in tourism and agro-tourism, fostering youth entrepreneurship, and promoting employment opportunities. With a background in social animation and informal education, he brings creativity and cultural sensitivity to his work, enriched by a personal passion for music, acting, and dance.
