Social Worker | Gender Equality Advocate | Youth Empowerment Specialist
Joana Kote is a dedicated social worker with extensive experience in child protection, gender equality, youth empowerment, and employment counselling. Since 2016, she has worked across public institutions and NGOs in Albania, including municipal governments and the Probation Service, where she has served in key roles such as domestic violence coordinator, child protection officer, and specialist for juveniles in conflict with the law.
Joana has led and facilitated numerous initiatives focused on supporting vulnerable groups, preventing trafficking, and promoting social inclusion. As a certified trainer and project manager, she has contributed to the design and implementation of local youth strategies, and served as an expert in gender-responsive budgeting and local policy development.
Since 2022, she has collaborated as a consultant with the Mary Ward Loreto Foundation in Saranda, offering expertise in social service strengthening and supporting at-risk communities. Her mission is to ensure that every individual, especially the marginalized, has access to safety, dignity, and opportunity.
