Mona Xhexhaj

    Mona Xhexhaj has over 13 years of experience in the civil society sector in Albania, leading EU-funded and cross-border initiatives in the fields of EU enlargement, rule of law, good governance, and youth engagement. From November 2025, she is engaged as Advisor to the Minister of State for Public Administration and Anti-Corruption through the AADF Leadership Program. She holds a dual Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of New York Tirana and Empire State College (USA), as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in European Politics and Policy from University College London (UCL), obtained through the Chevening Scholarship.

    For the past six years, she has served as the Executive Director of the Academy of European Integration and Negotiations (AIEN), contributing to capacity building in Albania’s EU integration process, with a focus on the Chapters of the Acquis and establishing a network of over 320 alumni, experts, and professionals from public institutions, academia, civil society, business, and media. She is engaged in consultancy projects within the framework of IPA funds, Jean Monnet, and Europe for Citizens programs, offering expertise in research, project management, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement. Mona has also contributed as a member of national consultative mechanisms, including the National Council for European Integration, the Partnership Platform for European Integration, and the National Convention on EU Integration, and she has closely followed the Berlin Process and the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans since their inception. Beyond her professional engagements, she has co-founded social and voluntary initiatives promoting education, access to reading, and literature.
