Chair of Justice First charity, Stokton | Lawyer

Barbara Hungin is the Chair of Justice First, a charity in Stockton on Tees working with those seeking asylum in the northeast region, offering legal casework advice and humanitarian support.

The charity was set up in 2006 in response to the needs of those dispersed into the Teesside area of the UK., often with little or no legal support. Her career was in social work and counselling and she has always been strongly motivated by the values of Catholic Social Teaching.

She also chairs the Middlesbrough Diocesan Justice and Peace Commission, overseeing and supporting groups throughout the Diocese who seek to raise awareness, to advocate, and to work in solidarity with likeminded groups to promote peace and justice and the care of creation.
